Chapati Man, the Spicy Indian Wrap festival and event catering business, created in London by husband and wife team Chris and Andrea Rai in 2007, has pulled off a major deal in selling the Chapati Man Master Franchise rights for Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan consortium, headed by the esteemed former Sri Lankan first-class cricketer and current international cricket commentator Roshan Abeysinghe, have purchased the Chapati Man licence to open Chapati Man fixed food-to-go sites and food trucks across Sri Lanka. The first Chapati Man fixed premises opened in Colombo in December 2018.

Chris Rai (the owner and founder of Chapati Man) believes this a ‘huge coup for the Chapati Man brand and concept’, saying “It’s the next logical step to take the brand from a national level to a worldwide audience and is yet another exciting step in the already hugely successful, Chapati Man journey. The Sri Lankan economy is currently booming and for Chapati Man to be a part of this is a huge achievement.”

It’s a brand and concept that can adapt and fit into various markets – a huge pat on the back to Chris – the Chapati Man Himself – for making this deal happen! Watch this space, as this is only the beginning.”

Roshan Abeysinghe, who fronts the Sri Lankan Chapati Man consortium (Chapati Man Lanka Pvt Ltd), alongside Milroy Manuel and Rajindra Amarasekere, said ‘we consider this to be an excellent opportunity for the Sri Lankan consumer who is bound to enjoy a wholesome and healthy meal at an affordable price.
